Two-Hour Interactive CME Course

This interactive, case-based course will provide neurologists with a practical framework for understanding and responding to medical aid in dying (MAID) requests in Illinois. The session will review the Illinois MAID law and explore considerations particularly relevant to neurologic disease, including prognostication, decision-making capacity, communication impairment, cognitive decline, disability, and self-administration. Clinical cases and audience discussion will be used to examine ethical considerations, social and healthcare inequities, clinician conscientious participation, and Rush's process for evaluating and managing MAID requests.
